The recently released Assassin's Creed Shadows launched with an impressive result - more than two million players in the first 48 hours. However, it will not be easy to surpass the most successful part of the franchise, Assassin's Creed Odyssey (2018).

According to Insider Gaming, it is Odyssey that still holds the title of the most popular game in the series, attracting more than 40 million unique players. Although Assassin's Creed Valhalla (2020) set a record for the scale of the launch and became the most successful premiere in Ubisoft's history, it has not yet been able to beat Odyssey in terms of the total number of players.
The exact sales of the game remain unknown, but its continued success is quite natural. Since its release seven years ago, Odyssey has gained recognition for its expanded open world, engaging storyline, and deep RPG mechanics.
