Saw 11 has been postponed, but not cancelled: Lionsgate promises the game is not over yet

Although Lionsgate has removed Saw 11 from its release schedule, this does not mean that the franchise is dead. The company hints that the game is not over yet, and Saw will return.
Here's What We Know
The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively reported that the planned horror film, which was supposed to be released in cinemas on 26 September, has been removed from this date. This comes after Patrick Melton, the film's screenwriter, told THR last week about 'internal squabbles' between the producers and Lionsgate.
However, a statement from Lionsgate reads as follows: 'I've seen the rumours. They say it's game over. You should all know me better. The game never ends'.
At the same time, Strangers: Chapter 2 is now scheduled to hit cinemas on 26 September.
Saw 11 screenwriter Melton previously told THR that he and his partner Marcus Dunstan turned in a draft of the film back in May 2024. According to Melton, the project is 'stuck at the management level' and the obstacle 'has nothing to do with creativity'.
The Saw franchise remains important to Lionsgate, having grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office since its inception.
