Samsung continues to support its popular smartphones with security updates. This time, the company has released an update for the Galaxy A53 that contains the March 2025 security patch.

Here's What We Know

The update is currently available for users in some European countries, but should soon be available in other regions.

The update has the firmware version number A536BXXSDEYB9. The main change is the introduction of the March security patch, which fixes dozens of vulnerabilities found in previous versions of the software. In addition, Samsung notes that additional system stability and performance improvements may have been added in this update.

How to install the update

Galaxy A53 users in Europe can already check for the update in their smartphone settings. To do this, you need to:

  • Open the Settings.
  • Go to the Software update section.
  • Click Download and install.

If the update is not yet available via OTA, you can download the firmware file manually and install it using a PC and the Odin app.

The Galaxy A53 was released in 2022 with Android 12. Samsung has guaranteed four major OS updates for this model. This means that the smartphone will receive Android 16 in the future.

Galaxy A53 updates:

  • Android 13 (end of 2022)
  • Android 14 (end of 2023)
  • Android 15 (One UI 7.0) in 2025
  • Android 16 (One UI 8.0) in 2026
