New challenges, skins, and special tasks: what does the next update of The Outlast Trials bring?
The developers of the co-op horror game The Outlast Trials have released update 2.1, which adds new missions, limited-time events, and a significant number of free cosmetic items. The update is now available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
Here's What We Know
The update includes two new MK challenges: "Stash the Contraband" and "Kidnap the Mistress". These short missions continue the theme of brainwashing by the Murkoff Corporation, which is trying to subdue the will of players before releasing them into the world as "sleeper agents" to wreak havoc in the Cold War era.
Additionally, a new catalogue of cosmetic items has been added, including skins reminiscent of the famous Zodiac Killer look. These items emphasise the game's eerie atmosphere and are available for unlocking for a limited time - until 22 April.
To celebrate the game's first anniversary, players can complete special tasks and receive additional free cosmetic items.
The update also introduced changes to the game's balance: some Rigs have been improved, and the Psychosurgery difficulty level now has faster enemies.
