CD Projekt does not use generative AI in the development of The Witcher 4 due to legal issues regarding intellectual property rights

During the financial presentation for 2024, CD Projekt's joint CEO Michał Nowakowski said that the company does not use generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the development of The Witcher 4 and other current projects due to the difficulties associated with intellectual property rights.
Here's What We Know
Novakowski noted that the company has created a team to research the potential use of AI in future products, including the development of its own AI models. However, this research is not focused on generative AI.
He stressed that the use of generative AI is complicated in terms of legal aspects of intellectual property ownership, so the company is not implementing such technologies in the development of The Witcher 4 or other upcoming projects.
As a reminder, it has already become known that The Witcher 4 is not expected to be released before 2027.
