Apple restricts iOS 18.4 and macOS Sequoia 15.4 features in the EU due to DMA requirements

Apple has announced that with the release of iOS 18.4 and macOS Sequoia 15.4 updates, some features such as iPhone Mirroring and enhanced SharePlay will not be available to users in the European Union. The reason for this is the requirements of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which Apple believes could jeopardise user privacy and security.
Here's What We Know
The DMA requires Apple to ensure that its services are compatible with third-party products. This includes opening up features such as AirDrop, AirPlay and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi sharing to third-party devices and apps. However, Apple has expressed concern that such measures could adversely affect the security of user data.
At the same time, the European Commission plans to finalise its investigation into the default browser choice on iPhones in the EU. Apple has made the changes as required by the DMA, which is likely to avoid fines and additional regulations.
