The US defence company RTX has presented a new unmanned wheeled multiple launch rocket system, DeepStrike. The system successfully passed the first tests as part of the US Army's Convergence project.

Here's What We Know

On its official website, the RTX press service reported that during the tests, DeepStrike demonstrated a high level of synchronisation and effective control at different distances from the control point. Rockets were also fired to test the combat capability of the launcher.

It is also known that the system is based on the FMTV A2 truck, which is longer than the FMTV M1140 used for HIMARS. This makes it possible to accommodate more launch containers and use longer missiles. As a result, DeepStrike has the same firepower as the M270 MLRS, but on a wheeled base.

Brian Burton, vice president of Raytheon's Precision Fires Manoeuvre business unit, said DeepStrike provides the military with a modern platform, autonomous capabilities and increased ammunition to support combat operations.
