Hello Games studio has released another major update for the popular space sandbox No Man's Sky.

Here's What We Know

The expansion is called Relics and is already available on all platforms. It adds a lot of new mechanics and features to the game, but the main theme of the update is palaeontology.

Now players can search planets for fossilised remains of extinct ancient alien creatures. These finds can be used to create skeletons, which are allowed to be freely arranged and customised in museums on their bases.

In addition, new dangers have been added: stone guards guard the excavation sites and they can be accidentally awakened while searching for bones, which will lead to difficult combat. There is also an opportunity to trade collected exhibits at space stations to replenish your collection or get rid of unnecessary specimens.

The game also introduced the eponymous Relics expedition, in which players can compete in the search for rare finds. As one of the rewards, players will be offered an exclusive companion - a slightly frightening reanimated skeleton.

The developers have also added recipes for items that can be created from found bones.

The main innovations of the Relics expansion are shown in the trailer:

To enhance player interaction, the developers have added the ability to register with the Galactic Palaeology Society to go on adventures together.

The full list of updates and fixes can be found on the game's website.
