Samsung Galaxy A26 and A36: new smartphones with 6 Android updates now in the US

The Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36 are now available for purchase in the United States. After launching in India and the UK, these smartphones are now available to American consumers, although the Galaxy A56 is not yet available in the country.

Here's What We Know

The Galaxy A26 costs $300 and the Galaxy A36 costs $400. Both devices are available with 128 GB of storage on Samsung's website.

The Galaxy A26 is only available in black, while the Galaxy A36 is available in Awesome Lavender and Awesome Black. If you trade in your old phone, you can get up to $150 off the purchase of either of these new smartphones.

Both models feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy A26 has a "U" shaped notch for the front camera, while the Galaxy A36 has a teardrop-shaped notch. Both phones are equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

The Galaxy A26 is powered by the Exynos 1380 chip, has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while the Galaxy A36 is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The Galaxy A26 supports microSD card, while the Galaxy A36 does not. Both smartphones run on Android 15 (One UI 7.0) and will receive six major Android updates and security patches over a six-year period.

In terms of cameras, both phones have a 50MP primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The Galaxy A26 has a 13MP front-facing camera and the Galaxy A36 has a 12MP camera that also supports 4K HDR video recording. Both devices have a 5000 mAh battery, with the Galaxy A26 supporting 25W fast charging and the Galaxy A36 supporting up to 45W.

The Galaxy A26 and A36 support 5G, have stereo speakers and are IP67 water and dust resistant. The Galaxy A26 has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3, and the Galaxy A36 has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as a built-in fingerprint scanner.
