Phishing attacks on Counter-Strike 2 players: how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud

Counter-Strike 2 players have become the target of a new phishing campaign that uses fake tournament broadcasts to steal Steam accounts.

Here's What We Know

Attackers are creating fake streams that mimic professional tournaments to lure users out of confidential information.

They take major esports events, such as IEM Katowice 2025 and PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, and broadcast old recordings of matches via YouTube accounts, pretending they are live.

These streams show links or QR codes that redirect viewers to fake websites offering to win cryptocurrency or free CS2 skins. In fact, these sites are designed to collect personal data from users.

Therefore, take a close look at the channel you are watching the broadcast on and check if such a tournament is really taking place.
