Apple will unveil a new version of its operating system, iOS 19, at WWDC 2025, and leaks are already revealing some major interface changes.

Here's What We Know

According to Youtube blogger Jon Prosser of the Front Page Tech channel, the new version of the operating system will include significant interface changes inspired by VisionOS. Among the innovations are translucent elements that will add a foggy background effect to various aspects of the interface, including pop-ups and the standard keyboard. The Messages app will also reportedly get translucent effects.

It was previously reported that iOS 19 would include round app icons, but new reports suggest that the new version of iOS will use the same app icons as iOS 18, which may disappoint some users expecting more visual changes.

Informant Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims that iOS 19 will be one of Apple's biggest updates in years, while maintaining similarities to previous versions of the system.
