Samsung has unveiled a new UWB chip for cars.

Here's What We Know

The Exynos Auto UA200 is designed for use in modern cars and supports Ultra-WideBand (UWB) technology, providing distance measurement with centimetre accuracy. It is equipped with security features, including Scrambled Timestamp Sequence (STS) technology for data encryption.

The Exynos Auto UA200, when connected to a car key, tracks the owner's exact location relative to the car. In addition, the chip supports important functions such as monitoring the driver's breathing rate and Child Presence Detection, which has been mandatory in Europe since 2025.

The chip includes a tri-core Cortex-M33 microcontroller, RF, power management and data storage blocks. It also has 2MB of on-board eFlash memory and 416KB of SRAM3.

For now, the Exynos Auto UA200 is still in the testing phase, but mass production is expected to start soon.
