Garmin has released a new beta version 15.16 for the Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Solar, Fenix E, and Enduro 3 smartwatches. The update includes more than 60 changes, including new features, improvements, and bug fixes.

Here's What We Know

This major update is part of the 15.xx test series, which follows the 13.35 stable update released in early March.

The main innovations in the 15.16 beta are the addition of a new Rucking activity and support for Rep-Counting 3.0 for counting repetitions.

Users can now use voice commands for functions such as Jumpmaster, Plan Dive, Reference Point and Trolling Motor. There is also the ability to view more daily workout settings in the Garmin Connect app.

The update improves the Climbing and Jump Rope activities, redesigns Garmin Coach for race day, updates the Morning Report, adds a 24-hour Body Battery display, and includes recommended workouts for running and cycling in the calendar.

Garmin has decided to remove a few features: target distances for Jump Rope and the option to resume completed guided meditations are no longer available.

The update also includes 66 bug fixes for issues with Passcode, Morning Report, and skin temperature measurements.

The beta version can be downloaded to the watch via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth by going to Menu, System, Software update, Check for updates. It is worth noting that the ECG and Dive functions for Fenix 8 models are disabled for the duration of the beta test.
