In the middle of 2024, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier reported that Avalanche Software studio with the support of Rocksteady colleagues (authors of Batman: Arkham series and the failed action game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League) were developing an expanded version of the ultra-popular role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy.

It was reported that players would have received up to 15 hours of new content and an expanded story, but those plans have changed.

Here's What We Know

In his new article, Schreier revealed that amid an ongoing major restructuring, Warner Bros. executives have decided not to release Hogwarts Legacy. Games has decided to abandon the release of Hogwarts Legacy: Definitive Edition.

As the main reason for this decision, the journalist points out that the company planned to sell the addition for $ 30, but the developers are not sure that such a price would correspond to the real amount of content and its quality.

In addition, at the moment the development of Hogwarts Legacy 2 continues and it is quite reasonable to direct the developers' efforts to this project.

Recall, Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023 and the last report said that its sales exceeded 34 million copies - this is the most successful Warner Bros. game.
