Long before the official unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2, there were vague rumours that the console would get two screens. This claim sparked a lot of discussions, but after the official unveiling of the console, they completely subsided as the public saw that the gadget has only one display.

Well, in fact, everything turned out to be a bit more complicated.

Here's What We Know

In the new Nintendo Today! news app, the company published several photos of the Switch 2, where attentive gamers saw that the mysterious button on the right Joy-Con had a "C" on it, which was not present in the first trailer.

This fact confused the community, but authoritative insider extas1s hastened to explain what the button is for.

According to him, Switch 2 will be able to connect to the last generation console and use it as an additional screen or controller. And it will be to connect one gadget to the other that the "C" button, which probably stands for "Connect", will need to be pressed.

This concept is somewhat reminiscent of the Nintendo Wii U, which had an additional screen that displayed in-game information, but this feature was only used in a few Nintendo games, and third-party developers didn't use this feature at all, and it wasn't popular among gamers.

Well, a special Nintendo Direct dedicated to Switch 2 and its games will be held on 2 April, and it's likely that the show will publicly reveal the purpose of the mysterious button.
