Garmin releases new beta update for Fenix 8 with improved navigation and map bug fix

Garmin has released a new beta update for its Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Solar, Fenix E and Enduro 3 smartwatches. The 15.17 update brings several new features, including navigation improvements and a bug fix to the map page.
Here's What We Know
This update comes one day after the previous one, version 15.16, the first release in the 15.xx test cycle. The 15.16 update introduced 66 changes, including a new Rucking activity and an updated Morning Report.
With the 15.17 update, new features include support for Breathing Variations and updated golf notifications that now activate the screen. The size of the directional arrows on the map has been improved for easier navigation. In addition, the music player page that appears when you remotely control content from your phone has been optimised.
Also, a bug on the map page that occurred when the watch reported memory issues has been fixed.
As with other beta updates, version 15.17 disables the ECG and diving functions for the Fenix 8 smartwatch. Users can download the update by going to the System, Software Update menu on their device.
It is not yet known when the stable version of this update will be available to all users.
Garmin is also launching a paid Connect+ plan with AI-based advice. Users will be able to get more detailed personalised insights, as well as workout recommendations and an enhanced LiveTrack feature.
