iPad Pro and MacBook Pro with M5 chips to be released by the end of the year - Bloomberg

Apple is preparing to release new iPad Pro and MacBook Pro with M5 processors this year. This was reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in his weekly Power On.
Here's What We Know
According to Gurman, iPad Pro with M5 is already at the stage of "advanced testing", and mass production will start in the second half of the year. If Apple sticks to this schedule, the devices could be available in October, the same period when the company released iPad Pro models in 2018 and 2022.
The last update of the iPad Pro took place in May 2024. Back then, the tablet received an OLED display, a thinner body, an M4 chip, and support for the Apple Pencil Pro. However, this year's update is likely to be less significant and will be limited to the M5 chip.
Back then, the iPad Pro was the first Apple tablet with an OLED display that provided higher contrast and brightness. The manufacturer called it the Ultra Retina XDR display. There are 11-inch and 13-inch versions to choose from, both with a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. Apple also offered an anti-reflective glass with a nanotexture for the first time for the iPad.
The front camera, as in the iPad Air, moved from the top bezel to the side to make it easier to use the tablet in landscape orientation. But the rear camera has lost its ultra-wide-angle module. The iPad Pro had only one rear camera, a flash, and a LiDAR scanner.
A similar situation awaits the MacBook Pro. The insider claims that Apple will release updated models with M5, but without significant design changes. A global redesign, including an OLED display and a thinner body, is expected only in 2026.
