Square Enix has announced a massive 25th anniversary celebration for Final Fantasy IX: gamers are hoping for the announcement of a remake of the iconic JRPG
7 July 2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of Final Fantasy IX.
This game, along with the seventh part, is one of the best games of the franchise and Square Enix is preparing to honour its anniversary.
Here's What We Know
The Japanese developer has launched a special website dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX, which states that in honour of the anniversary, gamers will be treated to special surprises and events, including:
- a 44-page Final Fantasy IX Picture Book: Vivi, Grandpa, and the Day of Departure - to be released on 2 July;
- a raffle of some sort;
- a collection of Final Fantasy IX themed glasses from Zoff;
- merch;
- Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Vinyl - Timeless Tale.
Of course, gamers remembered the Insider: Square Enix hasn't given up on a Final Fantasy IX remake and is actively developing it Final Fantasy IX remake that have been floating around for the past few years. Since Square Enix did not deny this information, there is a high probability that the remake of the cult JRPG may be announced during the holidays.
As a reminder, Final Fantasy IX was first released on PlayStation (1) and later ported to PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.
