Mazda has teasered a possible Tesla Model Y rival - here's what we know about it

The Japanese automaker has published a teaser of the EZ-60 electric crossover, which looks almost identical to the Arata concept from last year's Beijing Motor Show.
Here's What We Know
Concept cars often don't make it to production in their original form, but the EZ-60 looks like it will be an exception to that rule.
The new model will be called EZ-60 at least in the Chinese market, but may get other designations in other countries. According to recent reports, the European version of this electric crossover may be called the CX-6e, which is in line with Mazda's strategy of renaming the EZ-6 sedan for the European market as the 6e.
The video teaser shows the silhouette of the crossover recreated in digital wind tunnel graphics. The vehicle's profile is identical to the Arata concept. This car was aimed at the Chinese market, more specifically to compete with the Tesla Model Y. Mazda calls the design of this model "soulful + futuristic × modern".

A closer look at the teaser reveals a drop-shaped rear end that should improve aerodynamics. It's noticeably more elongated than on current Mazda crossovers like the CKh-50, CX-70 or CX-90. Inside, the EZ-60 will likely borrow many elements from the EZ-6 sedan's interior layout, which could mean minimalist styling with some premium touches.
Specifications
There's no official data yet. According to Carscoops, the EZ-60 will be based on Changan's EPA1 platform, the same architecture that underpins the Deepal SL03 sedan and S7 crossover.
If this formula is followed, expect a standard E-Skyactiv EV with 254bhp and a 68.8kWh battery pack providing a range of around 480km. A 241 hp version with an 80 kWh battery and a range of around 550 kilometres is possible.
A version with an additional 1.5 litre petrol engine (Range Exteder) will probably also be available in China, which will serve to recharge the battery.
