Asus published a teaser of a new device of the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand, which made a lot of noise.

Here's What We Know

In the short video, the company showed a device that is apparently a portable gaming console.

The official Xbox account almost immediately reacted to the teaser with its own meme. That's not surprising, since insiders Jez Corden and Tom Warren reported a few weeks ago that An insider has revealed details of Project Kennan, a handheld console from Microsoft and ASUS under the working title Project Kennan.

It was also mentioned at the time that the device will be similar to the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go and will be released under the Xbox brand. The operating system will be a modified version of Windows with some elements of the Xbox OS. The console will be able to run almost all third-party gaming services, including Steam, Battle.net and GOG, probably EGS can be added here, as well as individual companies' launchers, such as Riot Client, HoYoverse and others.

The console from Xbox and ASUS will support games marked Xbox Play Anywhere (so denotes the ability to transfer progress between different Microsoft platforms) and tittles from the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalogue.

So far, all this information is just rumours, but we'll probably see an official unveiling of the new gaming console soon.

It is expected to go on sale in late 2025.
