Rick and Morty are coming back: the eighth season premiere date and the first teaser are already available
Fans of Rick and Morty can rejoice: the eighth season of the famous animated series will start on 25 May 2025 on Adult Swim. This information was announced during a special programme for April Fool's Day, which, surprisingly, was not a joke.
Here's What We Know
During the 27-minute special with a theatrical production of the animated series' moments, viewers were presented with the first look at the new season at the very end.
The description of the eighth season promises the return of favourite characters: "Rick and Morty are back in season eight! Life has meaning again! Everything is possible! Expect adventures with Summer, Jerry, Beth, and the other Beth. Perhaps the Butter Robot will get a new task? No matter what happens, you can't keep Rick and Morty away for long. People have tried!"
New episodes will be released every Sunday. The full season will be available for streaming on the Max platform in the US and on Hulu from 1 September 2025.
Adult Swim President Michael Owen expressed his hope that viewers enjoyed the theatrical interpretations of Rick and Morty during the special and joked about possible support for a Broadway version of the show. He also noted that the team had once again created a great season of television.
