Even before the release of the iPhone 15, there were rumours circulating on the web that Apple would equip the gadgets with touch-sensitive side buttons instead of physical ones, but it never happened. But, as it turned out, the American corporation has not abandoned this idea.

Here's What We Know

Portal MacRumors with reference to an insider Instant Digital reported that Apple does not rule out the appearance of touch side buttons with vibration response in future iPhone models.

As the main argument for the introduction of touch buttons, experts call the increase in ease of use and reduce mechanical wear and tear of the gadget, as well as the ability to adjust for different pressing force.

It is reported that at the moment this project is in a frozen state, but in the foreseeable future Apple intends to implement the old idea. The timing of the appearance of such buttons is not yet called, because at the moment users are more interested in the development of displays and batteries.
