The original Verdansk map returned to Call of Duty: Warzone on 3 April, causing a significant surge in player activity on Steam. The number of concurrent players exceeded 114,000, which is the highest number for the game in 2025.

Here's What We Know

Thanks to the return of Verdun, Call of Duty Verdun is among the top 15 games by the number of players on Steam.

At the time of writing, Call of Duty's online peak reached 114,000 thousand players, which is a record for the game this year.

The return of Verdansk is also accompanied by the launch of the third season of Black Ops 6, which adds new weapons, maps, and modes. And the developers hope that nostalgia for the original map in Warzone will help attract and retain players.
