Authorised insider Tom Henderson continues to reveal Ubisoft's plans.

Here's What We Know

In an exclusive piece on Insider Gaming, he shared information from two sources from Ubisoft, who told him that the company wants to develop the Rainbow Six franchise in an unexpected way: the French publisher will move away from the shooter format and release a tactical game with an isometric perspective.

This project is described as an analogue of XCOM with a lot of cinematic scenes, and as the main characters will be used operatives from Rainbow Six Siege.

Players will have to form squads of different characters, based on their individual abilities and gadgets, and fulfil the set goals, among which will be the destruction of enemies, release of hostages, neutralisation of explosives and other tasks.

The development of the tactical game Rainbow Six Siege is planned to be completed in 1-2 years, and the platforms chosen are PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and possibly Nintendo Switch 2.
