What can happen to a game that is so popular? A lawsuit, of course! This is exactly what happened to the indie hit Schedule 1, which rapidly gained popularity among players. The developer is suspected of being too similar to the Drug Dealer Simulator 1 2 series by Movie Games S.A., which led to a full investigation.

Here's What We Know

Schedule 1, a modest indie game about the production and sale of drugs, conquered Steam at the speed of light. The game quickly peaked at over 400,000 players and continues to attract new players every day.

Everything was going great, but the publisher Movie Games S.A. demanded an investigation into Schedule 1.

The information about the investigation appeared on the Polish website papbiznes, where a document titled: "MOVIE GAMES SA (17/2025) Decision to initiate an investigation against the creators of Schedule 1 products on claims of infringement of the Publisher's intellectual property rights and related to the commission of an act of unfair competition against it".

Movie Games S.A. has its own series of games about drug trafficking: Drug Dealer Simulator 1 and Drug Dealer Simulator 2.

The legal document reads: "Potential infringement of the Publisher's intellectual property rights and actions that may have signs of unfair competition have been identified". Thus, Schedule 1 is considered too similar to the Drug Dealer Simulator series.

The investigation thoroughly examines "Elements of the game's storyline, mechanics, and UI - user interface".

Now it remains to be seen how it will all end.
