Apple has introduced a new application Apple Immersive Video Utility that allows you to control 3D video on Mac.

Here's What We Know

The application supports 8K video with a 180-degree field of view and spatial audio, which provides an incredibly realistic viewing experience.

The app is available for download on Macs with an M1 chip or later and works with macOS Sequoia. Thanks to integration with Apple Vision Pro, users can watch videos in a fully spatial format, and for group viewing, the synchronised playback function is available across multiple devices.

The Apple Immersive Video Utility allows you to create playlists, organise videos and even change metadata for further processing. The app already features performances by The Weeknd and Metallica, as well as popular TV shows such as Prehistoric Planet and Wild Life.

This free app is available for download in the App Store, but currently only in English. Although the app is aimed at professionals, anyone can use it to create their own playlists and enjoy the content.

Apple recently introduced two new apps for iPhone and Vision Pro users: "Apple Vision Pro for iPhone and Spatial Gallery for Vision Pro.

Apple Vision Pro for iPhone lets you view your Vision Pro model, software version, and serial number, get tips, and discover new content for Vision Pro. It's automatically installed for Vision Pro users with iOS 18.4 or later, and can be downloaded from the App Store.

The Spatial Gallery app for Vision Pro lets you view spatial photos, videos, and panoramas. It offers content from art, culture, sports, and travel, with regular updates. Users can discover Apple Originals projects and other materials from well-known brands.
