Here's What We Know
In an interview with Deadline, Hess emphasised that the world of Minecraft is extremely wide and offers many opportunities for further story development. He noted that in the first film, they were not able to fully reveal all the ideas they had, so the sequel will be a great chance to return to this world and continue the adventure.
One of the key moments of the upcoming film will be the introduction of Alex, one of the nine standard skins in Minecraft. Alex appears in the post-credits scene of the first film, although her face is not shown. Hess has confirmed that Alex will be a central character in the sequel, which is of great interest to fans.
The post-credits scene of the first film shows Alex inviting Steve (played by Jack Black) to the house where he used to live. This scene signaled to fans that Alex would play an important role in the upcoming film. Hess noted that the fans reacted very positively to this scene, which further fuelled interest in a possible sequel.
Although there is no official confirmation of a sequel yet, Jared Hess's statements and box office success indicate that the future of the project looks promising.
