Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders started yesterday (8 April) in Europe and Asia. In the US, the opportunity was supposed to open on 9 April, but due to the huge duties imposed by the Trump administration, the company postponed pre-orders indefinitely.

As it turns out, this decision by Nintendo has affected Canadians as well.

Here's What We Know

The Japanese company said that due to the need to "synchronise order collection with the US market" it is postponing the start date of pre-orders indefinitely.

This reason seems a bit far-fetched, but the postponement of the pre-order launch in Canada has indeed been delayed - as confirmed by major retailers Walmart Canada and GameStop.

Nintendo will provide an update at a later date. The launch date for the consoles remains unchanged at 5 June 2025.
