Audi has announced that it will celebrate the world premiere of the next-generation A6 sedan on 15 April. Ahead of the event, the German automaker has shared a teaser photo of the car.

Here's What We Know

Recall that the new Audi A6 was presented in early March, but only in the Avant version, that is, with a station wagon body. Now it's the turn of the car, which the manufacturer itself describes as a "classic premium business sedan".

The text of the press release does not contain additional useful information. But in the photo we can observe the car in the colour "Firmament Blue Metallic" with OLED rear lights of the second generation. The sedan is likely to share many common features with the A6 Avant. Both body versions are based on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform.

The overall length of the Audi A6 Avant is 4.99 metres, which is 60 millimetres longer than the previous generation. The wheelbase is 2927 millimetres. The width of the A6 Avant, excluding mirrors, is just under 1.88 metres. Luggage space is up to 503 litres, depending on the powertrain. With fully folded backrests of rear seats the volume of the boot increases to 1534 litres.

The interior features the Audi MMI panoramic display system and the optional MMI passenger display. The freestanding panoramic display is manufactured using OLED technology and has a curved design similar to that used in the A5 and Q5 models. The system consists of an 11.9-inch "Audi virtual cockpit" digital instrument panel and a 14.5-by-inch MMI touchscreen display.

A 10.9-inch passenger display is also available as an option. It opens up access to websites and video content. Thanks to the dynamic privacy mode, distracting content is not visible from the driver's seat while driving. When the passenger display is not in use or the passenger seat is unoccupied, the screen displays a background image.

The new A6 Avant is available with petrol and diesel engines, complemented by the 48-volt MHEV Plus hybrid system. Available versions are 2.0 TFSI (petrol, 204 hp), 3.0 TFSI (petrol, 367 hp), 2.0 TDI (diesel, 204 hp).

In Germany, prices for the new Audi A6 Avant start at €58,000.
