At the Kia CEO Investor Day 2025 event, some details about Kia's new electric pickup truck for the US market were revealed.

Here's What We Know

The as yet unnamed model will be built on a specialised electric vehicle platform. According to Kia representatives, this pickup truck will be suitable for both urban and suburban use.

From the above, we can assume that the new model will not compete in the full-size segment with such legends as the Ford F-150. Rather, it will be a pickup of the class of Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma and Jeep Gladiator.

The Korean manufacturer calls its new pickup an "innovative model" designed to provide segment-leading space for people and their cargo. The new product is claimed to be a true off-roader with a "robust towing system".

Kia also promises "advanced infotainment and safety features". In the medium to long term, Kia aims to sell 90,000 units a year and gain 7 per cent market share.

Kia hasn't said where it plans to produce the model, but logic suggests it will be assembled at one of Hyundai Motor Group's plants in the United States. Otherwise, the electric pickup will be subject to import duties (tariffs) imposed by Donald Trump, plus a 25 per cent "Chicken tax".

According to preliminary information, the debut of the electric novelty could take place in 2026.
