Media: Meta is working on a standalone Instagram app for the iPad

Meta has repeatedly stated that it is not going to release a separate version of Instagram for iPad, as such a request comes from too limited in number audience. But now there is information that the American corporation has revised its priorities.
Here's What We Know
According to The Information portal, Meta is working on a special Instagram app for the iPad. It is claimed that the main reason for this decision was the uncertain situation with TikTok in the US.
Recall that ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, has not yet found a buyer for its US assets, and if this does not happen (and against the backdrop of the US-China trade confrontation this may not happen), TikTok will be blocked in the US. Logically, Meta is looking to make the most of the situation and is clearly preparing Instagram to replace TikTok.
At the moment, Instagram on the iPad is a scaled down version of the iPhone app for a larger screen.
