The Minecraft soundtrack, composed by Daniel Rosenfeld, has been recognised and will be included in the National Recording Library of Congress. This iconic music joins classic video game sounds such as the Super Mario Bros. theme to highlight Minecraft's influence on culture and history.

Here's What We Know

The sounds of Minecraft: Volume Alpha have finally received the recognition they deserve. The addition of Minecraft to the register makes this music only the second video game to make the honour, after the Super Mario Bros. theme, which was added in 2023.

Interestingly, this happened at the same time as The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released in cinemas. The situation is the same with Minecraft.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the Minecraft film grossed $300 million worldwide in its first weekend. This was the largest opening weekend gross for a film based on a video game, leaving behind the previous records set by The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
