Cordyceps has made it to the football field: Athletic Bilbao players will go out on 13 April in special uniforms dedicated to The Last of Us
For the first time in its 127-year history, Spanish football club Athletic Bilbao will place advertising on its uniforms that is not related to Basque companies. During the match against Rayo Vallecano on 13 April, the players will take the field with the logo of The Last of Us on their chests, and the branding of the MAX streaming service will appear on their sleeves.

This collaboration is dedicated to the premiere of the second season of The Last of Us, which will take place on 14 April. In addition, from 9 to 15 April, San Mames Stadium will be illuminated with special illumination in honour of the series.
Jon Uriarte, the club's president, said that the title of the series perfectly reflects the unique philosophy of Athletic. He stressed that the club is the last in the five leading European leagues to play exclusively with players from its home region, which was common in the early days of football.
