Football without offsides and fouls: Rematch, an arcade football simulator by Sifu, will be released on 19 June
Sloclap, known for its fighting game Sifu, decided to change the genre and in late 2024 introduced Rematch, a 5-on-5 online football game that will officially launch on 19 June 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game offers fast-paced matches in futuristic arenas without traditional rules such as offsides and fouls, providing non-stop action and dynamic gameplay.
Here's What We Know
Rematch is an arcade football game where players control only one character on the field, switching between the roles of striker, defender and goalkeeper. Matches last 6 minutes and teams can consist of 3, 4 or 5 players. The game takes place in closed arenas where there are no fouls or offsides, which helps to avoid delays in the match. Rematch also has a bright visual style
The game focuses on team play and ball skills, as well as the mechanics of kicks and passes. Sloclap noted that Rematch draws inspiration from games such as Rocket League and Overwatch, but focuses on accuracy and player cooperation.
Rematch will be a paid game with a price of 30 euros. Several beta tests are planned before the release: the first one will take place from 11 to 13 April, the second from 18 to 19 April, and the third - the date has not yet been announced.
If you are tired of standard football simulators but like virtual sports, this is an option worth considering.
