Insiders have repeatedly reported that Apple is developing an ambitious foldable touchscreen gadget that would be a sort of MacBook and iPad hybrid.

The release of such a device was supposed to be years away, but new reports suggest that Apple could release it relatively soon.

Here's What We Know

MacRumors has shared information from Jeff Pu, an analyst at investment firm GF Securities, who believes that Apple's "notebook tablet" will go on sale in late 2026 or early 2027 - around the same timeframe the first foldable iPhone model is expected to be released.

All we know about the "MacBook and iPad hybrid" is that it will be 18.8″ diagonal, it won't have a physical keyboard, and it will be Apple's first touchscreen device to run macOS.

However, it is possible that the trade war unleashed by Donald Trump could significantly affect Apple's plans.
