Korean media: Samsung to introduce Android XR smartphones developed with Google in 2026

According to a report by Korea Economic Daily, the Android XR smartphone prototype recently revealed by Google will be released by Samsung in 2026, a little later than previously expected.
Here's What We Know
This collaboration between the two tech giants was confirmed by several sources familiar with the development process.
Google first demonstrated a prototype of Android XR smartphones in December 2024, giving a glimpse of the technology that promises to bring augmented reality (AR) to devices.
The most detailed demonstration took place this month at the TED2025 conference, where Google Vice President Shahram Izadi presented the glasses' capabilities, although the recording of the demonstration is still only available for a fee.
Although Google has not announced the launch of this product, it is Samsung that will take on the role of launching these glasses on the market. According to a report by the Korea Economic Daily, the two companies are working together on the development, and the smartglasses are expected to be released in 2026.
Samsung, meanwhile, plans to release its Android XR headset later this year, codenamed Project Moohan. Earlier it was reported that Samsung could release smartphones by the end of 2025. Now it becomes clear that the product will appear only next year.
The headset applications are displayed in large windows in front of your eyes, and you can control them with your fingers. The headset is likely to feature two ultra-high-resolution OLEDoS screens with high refresh rates.
