Galaxy Fold 7 appeared in Geekbench with Android 16 and One UI 8

Samsung is preparing to launch the seventh generation of foldable smartphones, and the first details have already appeared online. The Galaxy Fold 7 was spotted in the GeekBench database - the device with the model number SM-F966U runs on Android 16 with One UI 8.0.
Here's What We Know
The novelty will receive One UI 8, which is under active development. Unlike its predecessors - Galaxy Fold 6 (Android 14) and Fold 5 (Android 13) - the new generation will receive a more advanced version of Android right out of the box. The presentation is expected to take place in July or August, so the launch of One UI 8 will take place in a few months.
According to previous leaks, One UI 8 will offer support for third-party screen lock widgets, improved multitasking, and new features for the external display, including Samsung DeX mode.

Fold 7 is powered by a Qualcomm processor with a motherboard codenamed "sun". This indicates the use of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, similar to the one in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is labelled "For Galaxy". This guarantees flagship performance.
Although it is not yet known whether the Fold 7 will receive a display or camera upgrade, the focus on Android 16 and the top-end chipset indicate Samsung's serious ambitions in the premium folding segment. More details are expected closer to the announcement.
So far, Google has already released three beta versions of Android 16, and One UI 8 should include most of the key innovations. Samsung is also testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 series, which may be the first smartphones to get access to the beta programme.
