In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, you can skip boss battles: instead, you will be shown a visual novel

Hideo Kojima has introduced a new feature in Death Stranding 2 that will change the approach to difficult boss battles. If a player loses a battle, they will have the opportunity to skip it, having received all the necessary information about the boss through the mechanics of a "visual novel".
Here's What We Know
In his Koji Pro radio podcast, Kojima shared details that helped to reveal the innovation. If a player is defeated in a boss battle, the death screen will offer them the option to "skip" this stage of the game. By choosing this option, the player will be able to read a special "visual novel" that will contain all the history, context and important details related to the boss and the battle they skipped.
This mechanic is designed for players who have difficulty with complex battles. This is especially true for those who want to get through the game faster, enjoying its story and lore without getting stuck on difficult stages.
Although there is still an assumption that this will work only on the easy difficulty level.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released on 26 June 2025 exclusively for PlayStation 5.
