Fans of The Last of Us are delighted with Dina in the series: Isabela Mercedes outshone even Pedro Pascal

The premiere of the second season of The Last of Us has already captured the attention of fans, taking viewers five years ahead of the events of the first season and introducing several new key characters from The Last of Us Part II. One of the most striking new characters is Dina, played by Isabela Merced, who lives in the same Jackson settlement as Ellie (Bella Ramsay), Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Tommy (Gabriel Luna). Dina and Ellie's friendship quickly develops into a romantic relationship in the first episode, and the audience unanimously recognised Merced's "outstanding" and "talented" performance.

Prior to her role in The Last of Us, Merced had already appeared in films such as Madame Web and Alien: Romulus and will also play Hawkgirl in James Gunn's upcoming film Superman.

New episodes of The Last of Us season two are released weekly on HBO and Max.
