One UI 8 Alpha on Galaxy Fold 6 spotted online: what's new?
After a difficult start of One UI 7, which was accompanied by delays and technical problems, Samsung has shifted its focus to a new version of the branded interface.
Here's What We Know
Thanks to the early release of Android 16, the company has already started testing One UI 8 - and the first pictures from Galaxy Fold 6 in Alpha mode were provided by Smartprix.
Externally, One UI 8 is almost the same as the previous version - Samsung has chosen the path of evolutionary changes. This is not a large-scale redesign, but an attempt to eliminate the shortcomings of One UI 7 and at the same time introduce new features of Android 16. Judging by the timing of the leak, the company is trying to avoid repeating past delays and make the release more stable.

Notable updates include a revamped file manager with a more streamlined Categories section, as well as minor changes to the Gallery app interface. This shows Samsung's focus on improving the core apps and the overall user experience.
We should also mention the expansion of the Now Brief feature - it first appeared on the Galaxy S25 series, and now it's coming to Fold 6 and Flip 6. The feature analyses the user's daily habits to provide personalised advice, and may become more useful as Samsung's AI develops.

Fold 7 and Flip 7 are expected to be released with One UI 8 in a few months, so the company is striving to polish the new version of the shell as much as possible.
Recently, a moderator of the Samsung US community said that it is too early and pointless to talk about One UI 8, as the system has not yet been officially announced.
