Denmark to send troops to Ukraine to learn how to fight drone warfare
The Danish Armed Forces are planning to send several groups of their military to Ukraine to study combat experience and tactics of using drones. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Danish Armed Forces, Major General Peter Boysen, in a commentary to TV2.
Here's What We Know
The study tours were organised on the initiative of Mr Boysen and at the invitation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. Danish military personnel, both instructors and ordinary soldiers, will attend courses in Ukraine lasting from one to two weeks.
The training is likely to start this summer. Particular attention will be paid to attack drones, which, according to Boysen, are now the main weapon of choice in the war.
"We are sending several teams to learn first-hand what the Ukrainians have done," he explained, adding that drones account for "more than 70 per cent of the damage to Russian troops."

At the same time, the Chief of the Danish General Staff, Mikael Hildgaard, initiated the deployment of representatives of various defence sectors to Ukraine - the Navy, Air Force, Medical Service and Defence Academy. The goal is not only training, but also a deeper understanding of the current war waged by Ukraine.
Peter Boysen stressed that the Ukrainian side demonstrates openness, fulfils its obligations and is interested in a strategic partnership with Denmark. Such cooperation is part of Ukraine's political strategy of integration into NATO.
Earlier, Denmark has already deployed a drone operator training centre at the Varde training ground, and Boysen is actively adapting Ukrainian tactics in his army. He notes that the speed of transformation of modern combat is unprecedented: "In the 42 years I've been in the armed forces, I've never felt things move as fast as they do now."
