Ukraine has codified the UNEX UGV amphibious ground robotic system, and it has already been approved for use by the Defence Forces.

What we know

UNEX UGV is a remotely controlled wheeled armoured platform made in Ukraine and built on a special chassis. It is capable of overcoming water obstacles, swamps, marshes, ice and other difficult surfaces.

Thanks to the well-thought-out weight distribution and wide tyres, the pressure on the ground is less than that of an infantryman, which helps to avoid activating mines. During the demonstration, the platform drove over ceramic dishes without damaging them.

The UNEX UGV has protection against electronic warfare systems, reliable radio control, autopilot and powerful batteries. It can be used with combat modules, for logistics, evacuation, reconnaissance or demining. It is noted that the platform operates in all weather conditions.

Deputy Minister of Defence Valeriy Churkin said that since the start of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, almost 80 ground robotic systems have already been codified, including a dozen and a half in 2025. They perform a wide range of tasks, including assault, reconnaissance, logistics and evacuation.
