Garmin releases new beta firmware for Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, Enduro 2 and Tactix 7 with critical fixes
Garmin continues to improve the software for its older smartwatch models. Recently, the company released beta update number 21.09 for the Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, as well as the Enduro 2 and Tactix 7 models.
Here's What We Know
The update focuses on bug fixes and interface improvements.
The most important innovation is a bug fix that could cause the device to crash on shutdown. Garmin has also eliminated a delay in changing screens on some CIQ watch faces, improved the sensor connection menu, and updated the breathing variations page, although specific changes have not been disclosed.
In addition, a few other bugs have been fixed, such as crashes when using voice prompts during training and a problem with the distance to obstacles display in golf tournament mode.
Despite active work on a stable version of the firmware, the company has not yet announced when it will be available to all users. It is worth noting that the ECG function is still not available in this beta version.
Recently, Garmin Fenix 8 received a beta version with voice command support and new workouts. The update includes more than 60 changes, including new features, improvements, and bug fixes. The main innovations in the 15.16 beta are the addition of a new activity for Rucking and support for Rep-Counting 3.0 for counting repetitions. Users can now use voice commands for functions such as Jumpmaster, Plan Dive, Reference Point and Trolling Motor.
