Nintendo has responded to player concerns about cloud saving support for the updated versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for Switch 2. Initially, there were warnings in the eShop that these versions did not support backing up saves via Nintendo Switch Online, which caused fears of losing progress.

Here's What We Know

According to NintendoLife, these warnings have been updated. The new message clarifies that saves created in the second save slot in Tears of the Kingdom - Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred back to the regular version of the game on the original Switch. This indicates that there will still be some support for saves, albeit with limitations.

The updated message has already appeared on the eShop pages for Tears of the Kingdom - Switch 2 Edition and Donkey Kong Bananza. At the same time, Breath of the Wild - Switch 2 Edition still shows the old warning.

The updated versions will be released on 5 June for $10 for those who already own the game or $70 as a separate digital edition. Nintendo confirmed that additional DLC content will have to be purchased separately.
