Garmin ECG app now available in the UK and Switzerland
Garmin has expanded the availability of its popular ECG app to smartwatch users in the UK and Switzerland. Earlier, the app was made available in countries such as the US, Singapore and Hong Kong, and more recently in Australia and the EU. Now it is available in more than 50 regions of the world.
Here's What We Know
The Garmin ECG app is compatible with several models of smartwatches, including the Fenix 7 Pro, Fenix 8, and Tactix 8. It allows users to monitor their heart rate and frequency, as well as identify possible early signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart condition. The ECG recording procedure takes only 30 seconds, and the results can be seen immediately on the smartwatch or in the Garmin Connect app.
While the ECG app is a useful health tool, it is not medically certified, so users should consult a physician if they have any health concerns. Results can be exported in PDF format, making it easy to share with medical professionals.
Currently, the app can detect irregular heart rhythms, but does not offer passive atrial fibrillation detection. Users in the UK and Switzerland can now take advantage of these features, and the app is supported by such models as D2 Mach 1 Pro, Venu 3, Enduro 3,
Quatix 7 Pro, Venu 3S.
Garmin has recently released a new beta firmware for Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, Enduro 2 and Tactix 7 with critical fixes
