Assassin's Creed Shadows instantly became the best-selling game in the United States in March 2025 in terms of money. This is reported by the analytical company Circana, emphasising that Ubisoft's new title also took second place among the best-selling games of the year, behind only Monster Hunter: Wilds and ahead of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

In addition, Assassin's Creed Shadows became the best-selling game on the Xbox platform in March, and took the second place on PlayStation and Steam.

Circana analyst Mat Piscatella provided additional context for the success of Assassin's Creed Shadows, noting that its launch was the third largest in the franchise's history in the US, behind only Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. "It's a great start, so now we just have to see how things go from here," he concluded.

Last month, Ubisoft established a subsidiary that will be responsible for the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six brands, having received a significant investment of €1.16 billion (approximately $1.25 billion) from Chinese giant Tencent.
