Threads is now on Threads.com: Meta announces update for users
Meta is moving Threads to a new domain, threads.com, and adding important updates to the web version. When Threads launched, the site was available on threads.net because the domain threads.com was owned by a messaging startup. However, that startup was later acquired by Shopify, and Meta eventually bought the coveted domain.
Here's What We Know
Now the site has moved to threads.com and received several new features.
One of the main updates is a new post editor that opens in a separate window. Now you can write posts and view your feed at the same time. The web version is now displayed in one column, which is more convenient for use. There's also a new menu for saved posts, so you can quickly find them without having to use the pinned panel.

Meta is also working on a feature that allows you to import your Twitter (now X) followers. Users will be able to download a list of accounts they follow and find them on Threads. Although the feature is still in beta and may take up to three days to upload data, it will allow users to quickly find familiar accounts on the new platform.
These changes will help Meta make Threads more user-friendly and attract new users. With the new domain and improved features, Meta hopes to strengthen its position in social media and compete with other platforms such as X.
As a reminder, Meta has launched advertising on Threads in more than 30 countries. Users in more than 30 countries will start seeing adverts in their feeds between regular posts.
