The one millionth Opel Corsa F has rolled off the assembly line
The Opel Corsa compact hatchback has celebrated an important milestone - the production of the one millionth copy of the current generation model, known as the Corsa F. The jubilee car recently left the production workshops of the Stellantis plant in Zaragoza, Spain.
Here's What We Know
Sometimes things work out differently than planned: Opel had almost completed the development of the next-generation Corsa on the General Motors platform when the Rüsselsheim-based company was taken over by France's PSA (later Stellantis) in 2017. As a result, the hatchback was moved to the Peugeot 208 platform, although in terms of design, judging by the prototypes, there were few changes.
However, the change of course has benefited both the Opel brand and the Corsa model itself. Since the launch of the current-generation Corsa F in 2019, the plant in Zaragoza, Spain, has produced more than one million cars. And demand continues to grow: in the first quarter of 2025, the number of new registrations of the model in Europe increased by 18 per cent compared to the previous quarter. Cumulatively, around 15 million cars have been sold worldwide since the introduction of the Corsa in 1982.

According to statistics from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), the Corsa has remained the best-selling small car in the country for the past four years. In the UK, the model has also topped sales in its segment for three consecutive years (from 2021 to 2023). And in the first quarter of 2025, the Corsa was once again the leader in these key markets.
The car is also among the top three B-Class leaders in Croatia, the Netherlands, Norway and Slovenia (data for January-March 2025). And in Greece, the Opel Corsa hatchback became the best-selling model in the market as a whole in 2023.
There are several reasons for its success: modern design, practical interior, a wide range of options and a choice of powertrains: from two all-electric versions to hybrids with 48-volt technology and economical petrol engines.

Opel continues to develop the Corsa systematically. Thus, the electric version of the Corsa with a 51 kWh battery and 115 kW (156 hp) after the update has a range of up to 429 kilometres on the WLTP cycle, which is 6 per cent or 24 kilometres more than the pre-reform version.
