Split Fiction will be produced by Mike Goldberg and Dmitry M. Johnson's Story Kitchen (formerly known as dj2 Entertainment), which has been actively pitching this star-studded project to major studios, as well as John M. Chu's Electric Somewhere. Sidney Sweeney will also executive produce the film.

Split Fiction by Hazelight and publisher Electronic Arts is a unique blend of fantasy and science fiction. The game tells the story of two writers, Mio and Zoe, who suddenly find themselves trapped in the worlds they have created. The game, written by Hazelight director Josef Fares and Sebastian Johansson, is a co-operative adventure story with original gameplay mechanics, challenges and unique abilities for each of the characters.

Variety sources report that it has not yet been decided whether Sydney Sweeney will play the main role of Zoe or Mio.

The game, released on 6 March, instantly won the hearts of players and critics, demonstrating good sales. According to the data, more than two million copies of the game were sold in the first week after its release, and this figure continues to grow.
