The Path episode 3 premiere: how Ellie seeks revenge in The Last of Us season 2
HBO and Max have premiered the third episode of the second season of The Last of Us. The 56-minute episode titled The Path was a turning point for the main characters as they try to cope with the loss and choose the path of revenge.
Here's What We Know
Three months have passed since the tragic event in the second episode and the devastating attack on Jackson by the infected. The episode begins with emotional scenes: Tommy spends his last moments with those who were close to him, and Ellie, in the hospital, experiences fierce pain that forces her to vent her anger in screams. Later, she and Dina decide to travel to Seattle to find the Washington Liberation Front (WLF).
The Path is the first to feature the Seraphites, a religious group with distinctive scars on their faces. Their prophet died decades ago, but they follow her teachings. This encounter hints at the dangers ahead for Ellie and Dina.
The episode focuses on Ellie's anger and her desire for revenge. She trains with Jesse, preparing to face her enemies. However, the citizens of Jackson do not support the idea of a military expedition.
Director Peter Hoare and screenwriter Craig Mazin have created an episode that combines a slow, reflective pace with tense moments. Visual effects, including the forest scenes with the Seraphs, emphasise the atmosphere of danger, while the music enhances the drama.
The season consists of seven episodes, which are broadcast every Sunday.
